Small Water Drain Leak in Glen Head, NY

We received a call from a customer in which we have worked in their home about six months prior. Our customer went into their basement and realized there was a small amount of water on the floor and that the drywall was wet close to the ceiling area. Home owner called their plumber and had the leaking drain pipe repaired and then called us in to make sure everything was cleaned and dry as they are very concerned about the possibility of mold growth. they made the right decision to call back SERVPRO of Glen Cove / Jericho to take care of the problem.

We removed a wood shelving unit along with some drywall from the ceiling and the walls and cleaned and treated the structural components in the ceiling and behind the drywall wall. After the removal we proceeded to set up a few air movers and a LGR dehumidifier and dried out the wood framing, floor sheathing for the floor above, and the tile floor in the affected area.

As you can see in the after picture the area has been cleaned up and is ready for some fresh insulation and drywall.

The after picture was taken only 3 days after we received the initial call from our customer. Our customer was extremely happy that they were able to set up to have their contractor to come and complete the reconstruction only 3 days after they have reached out to SERVPRO of Glen Cove / Jericho to handle their small disaster.
