Fire Damage in Bay Shore, NY

Small fire in the hallway on the second floor of this home. the stairwell was covered in soot and saturated by the first responders trying to contain the fire. All affected drywall along with the carpeting and padding on the steps was removed. We also removed the insulation in the walls and ceilings as the smoke odor was very strong. After the removal of the building materials the area was then cleaned using a HEPA vacuum first and then a thorough cleaning with a surface degreaser in order to get the framing and outside wall sheathing back to like new condition.

The next step here is to seal the exposed wood with a clean sealant, replace the insulation, and then its time for new drywall and all the finish work to take place.
