Being prepared can only help! Here a few more tips to keep your home safe during the cold weather months ahead.
Even if you are not going to be home for an extended period of time be sure to leave the heat on in your home to a min of 60 degrees.
Do you have an emergency plan? Power outages are a common problem in heavy snow storms due to power lines being down and electrical overload, when the power is out in your home the heat is not going to work. A back up generator installed by a licensed electrical contractor is great idea. Flashlights with good batteries, extra blankets, and always make sure your cell phone battery is charged when you know the storm is coming.
