Winter is upon us!
Being prepared can only help! Here a few more tips to keep your home safe during the cold weather months ahead.
-Keep space heaters away from all combustible materials.
-Space heaters should be plugged directly into a grounded wall outlet. Use of extensions cords is not recommended.
-Never use your stove / oven to try and gain some heat in the home.
-Even if you plan on being out of the home for a few days it is very important to keep the heat on, you do not want your pipes to freeze.
-Drying gloves and shoes on a radiator makes them nice and warm, however it is not the best idea. In many cases these items are very flammable and with enough heat will start a fire in your home.
